3 pistols recovered in Noakhali, youth arrested

Gopalpur union of Begumganj upazila of Noakhali at the check post. A young man named Rahim (21) has been arrested by the police. After searching his body, three foreign pistols were recovered.

Begumganj Model Police Station conducted a search in front of Baitun Noor Jame Masjid on Gopalpur-Banglabazar road on Monday (June 8) afternoon. Arrested Rahim is the son of Jasim Uddin of Vasantbagh Bhuiyan of Gopalpur Union of Begumganj Upazila.

According to the police, to keep the law and order situation normal, special operations and check posts were set up in different parts of the upazila and searches were conducted on suspected persons and vehicles. As part of this, a check post was set up in front of Baytun Noor Jame Mosque on Gopalpur-Banglabazar road in the afternoon. At that time, a young man was speeding away on a motorcycle when his speed was stopped. Later, when the conversation seemed suspicious, his body was searched. At one stage, three foreign pistols, eight rounds of bullets, three magazines and an unregistered motorcycle were recovered from his waist.

Police Inspector (Investigation) of Begumganj Model Police Station Habibur Rahman said that legal measures are under process in this regard.
