A video of Rajshahi's Bagmara police station Inspector (Investigation) 'taking bribe' has gone viral on social media. He was withdrawn from the police station at around 11:00 on Monday (June 8) and attached to the Rajshahi Police Lines. The police inspector's name is Kamlesh Das.

Earlier on Sunday (June 7) night, when the video went viral, there was widespread criticism on social media.

In the 52-second video, Kamlesh Das can be seen sitting in his room taking money from an unidentified person. After taking it under the table, he took out the money from the envelope. After quickly counting the notes, he kept them in his wallet.

Kamlesh Das looked at the financier happily and started talking with a smile. Then show the bribe giver a red notebook on the table.

The video was first posted from a Facebook page. Later it spread. Many expressed anger after seeing the video. However, the police officer from whom the envelope was taken could not be identified. The conversation between the two has been muted.

Kamlesh Das joined Bagmara as Officer-in-Charge (OC Investigation) about three months ago. I called him many times on his mobile phone to inquire about this, but there was no response.

Rajshahi District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Naimul Hasan said that the investigation has been started after the matter came to notice. In the meantime, the accused officer has been removed from the police station. Strict action will be taken if any evidence of bribery is found.
