
Bangladesh has finally stepped into the official selection of Cannes, the world's most prestigious film festival. And that is possible through the film 'Rehana Maryam Noor' by director Abdullah Mohammad Sader.
Ajmeri Haque Bandhan played the lead role in the film. Who had been dreaming about the film for the past three years. The implementation of which began on Thursday through the official announcement of the Cannes festival authorities.
Bandhan said in this regard, 'Today I got the result of our long suffering and waiting. We are proud to add the name Bangladesh to the official selection of this festival. All our troubles are worth it.'
Meanwhile, filmmaker Saad made his mark in 2016 with the film 'Live from Dhaka'. 'Rehana Maryam Noor' is her second production. Meanwhile, this year's festival is being held in Cannes, France from July 6. The people associated with 'Rehana Maryam Noor' are now dreaming of bigger surprises from the film.
When asked about the context of the film, the director said that the story of this movie is based on Rehana Maryam Noor, a teacher of a private medical college. Where Rehana leads a complicated life as a mother, daughter, sister and teacher. Meanwhile, Rehana witnessed an unexpected incident while leaving the college one evening.
From then on, he started protesting the incident on behalf of a female student against a fellow teacher and became increasingly reclusive. But at the same time, her 6-year-old daughter was accused of bullying by the school. In such a situation, adamant Rehana continued to seek justice for the student and her child outside the so-called rules. And Ajmeri Haque Bandhan played this inimitable role of Rehana.
The film is produced by Singapore producer Jeremy Chua, executive producer Ehsanul Haque Babu and co-produced by Rajeev Mahajan, Adnan Habib, Saidul Haque Khandkar under the banner of Potokal and Metro Video. Cinematographer Tuhin Tamizul, Production Designer Ali Afzal Ujjal and Sound Designer Shaib Talukder. The film is co-produced by Sensemakers Productions. Afia Jahin Zaima, Kazi Sami Hasan, Afia Tabassum Varna, Yashir Al Haque, Saberi Alam and many others acted in the film.
