Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal has started presenting the national budget of Tk 6 lakh 3 thousand 681 crore for the financial year 2021-22. Speaker at 3 pm. He is presenting this budget in the Jatiya Sangsad held under the chairmanship of Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury.
A special meeting of the cabinet was held before this. The new budget for the next financial year was approved in a special meeting in the cabinet room of the National Parliament. After that, President Abdul Hamid signed the budget approved by the Cabinet, allowing it to be presented in Parliament.
The budget size or expenditure of this fiscal year is estimated to be 6 lakh 3 thousand 681 crores. The size of the budget for the current financial year is five lakh 68 thousand crores. Accordingly, the size of the budget is increasing by 35 thousand 681 crores.
The total revenue in the next budget is expected to be Tk 3 lakh 89 thousand crores. The total revenue target for the current financial year is 3 lakh 78 thousand crores. According to that, the income is increasing by 11 thousand crores. The National Board of Revenue (NBR) is being given a target of Tk 333,000 crore in total revenue. NBR has been given a target to collect the same amount of revenue in the current financial year as well.
16,000 crores will come from non-national tax in the next financial year's budget. And the income without tax is considered to be 43 thousand crores. The amount of foreign grant received in the next year is estimated to be 3 thousand 490 crores. Two lakh 25 thousand 324 crores have been estimated in the Annual Development Program (ADP). The ADP has already been approved by the National Economic Council (NEC).
Excluding grants in the budget, the deficit is estimated at Tk 2 lakh 14 thousand 681 crores. It is 6.2 percent of GDP. And the overall deficit including grants is estimated to be 2 lakh 11 thousand 191 crores. It is 6.1 percent of GDP.
The target of borrowing from the domestic sector is Tk 1 lakh 13 thousand 453 crore. Within the domestic sector, the government will take a loan of Tk 76 thousand 452 crores from the banking system. And 32 thousand crore rupees will be borrowed from National Savings Certificate. Apart from this, five thousand one crore rupees will be taken from other sectors. The target of borrowing from foreign sources has been set at 97 thousand 738 crores.
The GDP growth has been estimated at 7.2 percent in the budget. And inflation is planned to be kept at a tolerable level of 5.3 percent.
