Hajj transport was suspended last year due to the outbreak of the global pandemic coronavirus and Saudi Arabia not allowing Hajj. Like last time, pilgrim transport will be closed this time too.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said this during the proposed budget speech for the fiscal year 2021-22 in the National Parliament on Thursday.
He said that maximum use of information technology is being ensured to complete all activities of Haj in the coming years. Not all service provider locations are compact. Hence the upward expansion of the Hajj Camp building and renovation of the internal infrastructure of the Hajj Camp is progressing at a fast pace.
The Finance Minister said that under the Imam and Muazzin Welfare Trust, one thousand imams have been given interest-free loans and assistance has been provided to four thousand needy imams in the current financial year.
