People flock to Zia Udyan on Ziaur Rahman's martyrdom anniversary

On the 45th death anniversary of the martyred president and founder of BNP, Ziaur Rahman, people flocked to pay their respects at his tomb.

On Saturday (May 30) morning, it was seen that thousands of leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliates and affiliated organizations have taken positions on both sides of the road from Vijay Sarani to Zia Udyan. They are holding different types of banners, festoons and party flags. They expressed solidarity with the party program by chanting different slogans.

Along with Dhaka Metropolitan North and South BNP, Youth Dal, Volunteer Dal, Chhatra Dal, Krishak Dal, Sramik Dal and various unit and ward level leaders and activists took positions on both sides of the road with the designated banners. Law enforcement personnel were seen on high alert.

A leader of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP said, “The ideals of martyred President Ziaur Rahman are still alive in the hearts of the people of the country. I have come here to pay tribute to him on his martyrdom anniversary.”

Abdul Hannan Majumdar, general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan East Chhatra Dal, told RisingBD.com, “Today's influx of people to Zia Udyan proves how deep people's love for Ziaur Rahman is. We pray for the forgiveness of his soul. We will work to implement his ideals.”
