The Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs commented that eight-year-old child Ramisa's murder in Pallavi of the capital is 'as heavy as a Thai mountain'. Asaduzzaman.
He made this comment in a speech given under Rule 300 in the National Parliament on Sunday (May 7) afternoon.
The law minister said, “We are happy to announce that the main accused Sohail and his accomplice wife have been sentenced to death in the Ramisa murder case. Mao Zedong said, some deaths are as heavy as Thai mountains, some deaths are as light as a bird's feather.”
He said, “Ramisa murder is as heavy as a Thai mountain in our lives. If these accused can be hanged, it will feel like a feather to the nation. That was our promise to the nation.”
The minister said, “The journalists asked, Ramisa's father does not want justice, what to say about this? We said, the only answer is to restore his trust. Today, Ramisa's father said, he is satisfied with this trial. We have managed to restore his place of trust.”
Highlighting the process of judgment, the law minister said, “The police arrested two accused within 8 hours of the brutal incident in Pallavi on May 19. The government took immediate action. The Prime Minister, Home Minister and I met the victim's family. Then the victim's father said that he did not want justice. Because, there will be no justice in this country. We assured him. After 5 days, the police gave the charge sheet on May 24 at 12 noon. By 4 pm it was sent from the CMM court to the tribunal. Sent. The lower courts were supposed to go on vacation from June 1. The women and child abuse tribunals were kept out of the ambit of vacation.”
As the defendant did not provide a lawyer, the state defense lawyer was given on May 24, Md. Asaduzzaman said, “Charges were framed on June 1, testimony of 16 people on June 2, testimony of the accused on June 3, arguments on June 4 and judgment on June 7. The court reviewed and read the order for 41 minutes. Two accused were sentenced to death.” At this time, the members of parliament beat the table and congratulated the law minister.
The minister said, “All necessary steps have been taken to complete the investigation and trial under the special supervision of the government.”
