The child fell from the mother's lap and was crushed by a truck, the rescuer also died

An 8-year-old child died after falling from his mother's lap in a moving auto-rickshaw at Ishwardi in Pabna. While trying to save the child, a motorcycle rider was killed by the same truck.

The accident took place at Kolikandi Battala area of ​​Pabna-Kushtia highway on Sunday (June 7) around 8:30 pm.

The name of the deceased child is Alif. He is the son of Zahid Hossain of Koladi village of Pabna Sadar Upazila. The name of the deceased motorcyclist is not known.

In charge of Pakshi Highway Police Station. Nannu Khan said that his mother went to Pakshi with her son Alif. They were returning home in a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw at night. After reaching Kolikandi Battala area on Pabna-Kushtia highway, the autorickshaw took a slight detour. At this time, Alif fell from his mother's lap and fell on the road. At this time, a motorcyclist tried to save the child. But, both were crushed under the truck coming from the opposite direction and died. Alif's mother was injured.

He said that Pakshi Highway police went to the spot and recovered the dead bodies of the two victims and seized the motorcycle involved in the accident. The autorickshaw and truck driver fled. The mother of the injured child Alif has been admitted to Ishwardi Upazila Health Complex.
