Two trucks collided and the helper was trapped between the trucks. He was later rescued.
Two trucks collided head-on on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Ghazaria upazila of Munshiganj. A helper was seriously injured in the collision and trapped inside the truck. The fire service personnel rescued him in a breathless operation.
The accident took place on Tuesday (May 19) around 6:30 am in Shantinagar area of ​​Baushia Union on the highway opposite New Hope Factory.
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, Muhammad Safiqul Islam, said that a Chittagong-bound truck lost control and hit another truck in front, causing two trucks to enter the trees on the side of the road. A helper of a truck was seriously injured and trapped inside.
On receiving the information, two units of Ghazaria Fire Station rushed to the spot and conducted an operation using sophisticated rescue equipment. After a long effort, they managed to rescue the injured helper alive.
Rescued helper Mahmudul Hasan (12). His home is in Noakhali district. Later he was sent to Ghazaria Upazila Health Complex by fire service ambulance.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted for some time after the accident, but later it returned to normal.
