Kajal Aggarwal is a popular actress of South Indian cinema. The actress took a long break from work to enjoy motherhood. His son is now four years old. After becoming a mother, her life routine has completely changed. Kajol is trying to be regular in acting despite managing her husband and children.
Kajol starrer 'The India Story' movie will be released very soon. The actress gave an interview to Variety India about this Hindi movie. In this conversation, various issues including the disparity in remuneration of actors and actresses, the working hours of women artists, the workplace environment; About which Kajol gave a simple confession.
The disparity in remuneration of actors and actresses is now being discussed in the film industry. What is your opinion on this? Responding to this question, Kajal Aggarwal said, “Hopefully, more actors and actresses will speak up about the issue. There is no doubt about the pay disparity. The situation is slowly changing, and it is being worked on. The industry has now come into a much more corporate structure, which has led to some changes. Still not comparable. The pay gap between male and female actors is still huge.”
You have a four year old child. What is your opinion on the demand for an eight-hour working day? Kajal Aggarwal replied, “After becoming a mother, my life has changed a lot. My priorities have changed, everything has become more challenging. I want to finish work and return home by a certain time. So I arrange my daily routine in such a way that there are fixed working hours. I also mention such a condition in my contract. Normally, I work in one shift a day, which is about nine hours. But sometimes in our industry there are situations that are out of one's control. There is some concession.”
A few days ago, actress Janhvi Kapoor said, “South film industry is very disciplined when it comes to work schedule, which is not seen in Hindi film industry.” Do you agree on this? In response, Kajal Aggarwal said, “Yes, it's true. Usually, we don't work more than nine hours. I'm a bit biased towards the southern film industry. Because that's where my career started. I don't feel comfortable working here, which I don't get in Bollywood. Along with discipline and punctuality, there's a lot of respect for women.”
30-40 percent female workers in Hindi cinema. Why is the number of women on the shooting sets of southern films relatively low? Responding to this question, Kajal Aggarwal said, “Yes, it is true to some extent. But the numbers are changing slowly. The graph of the situation is leaning towards the positive side. I believe, with time, there will be a big change, eventually there will be a balance.”
Kajol married her boyfriend Gautam Kislu on October 30, 2020. Rumors of pregnancy of this actress after marriage have been doing the rounds many times. However, in January 2022, she officially announced her pregnancy. Kajol gave birth to a son on April 19 of the same year. The son has been named Neel Kitchlu.
Kajol currently has five films lined up. These are – 'The Indian Story' in Hindi, 'Ramayan-1', 'Ramayan-2', 'Indian Three' and 'NBK 111' in Tamil.
