Allegation of rape of school girl in Pabna

A school girl has been accused of rape in Chatmohar, Pabna. The incident took place at Kamalpur Kumarpara village of DBgram union of the upazila on Tuesday (19 May) around 7 pm.

The accused Abdul Jalil (60) is the son of deceased Miyajan Pramanik of that village.

According to the affidavit of the case, on Tuesday evening, the child was sent by his mother to a shop near the house to fetch coils. Around that time, the neighbor grandfather Abdul Jalil asked the child to sweep his house, tempting him with food items. Abdul Jalil raped the child when he went to sweep the house. In this incident, the victim's mother filed a complaint at the police station.

Chatmohar Police Station OC Golam Mostafa said, “The child was sent to Pabna One Stop Crisis Center on Wednesday for medical examination. As the accused Abdul Jalil was absconding, he could not be arrested. However, the police operation is continuing.”
