A total of Tk 89,000 was fined to various transport and bus counters in Sirajganj mobile court operation for collecting extra fare from passengers during Eid-ul-Azha. At the same time, the excess fare collected from the passengers has also been refunded.

Saturday (June 6) District Administration Executive Magistrate. This operation was conducted under the leadership of Nazmul Hossain.

Sohail Sheikh, Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs Department, said that five buses were raided in the Kaddar Junction area of ​​the Yamuna Bridge West Link Highway. During the operation, the concerned transporters were fined 14 thousand rupees as evidence of extra payment of the fixed fare was found from the passengers. Besides, the excess fare collected is refunded to the passengers. Later three bus counters were raided in the Bazar station area of ​​the city and fined Rs 75,000 under the Consumer Rights Protection Act.

District Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Sirajganj District Branch Joint Editor Kazi Sohail Rana, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police were present during the operation.

Such operations of the district administration will continue so that no transport can harass the passengers by charging extra fare.
