The second session of the 13th National Parliament, which will be considered as the budget session this year, begins on Sunday (June 7). The proceedings of the session will begin at 3 pm in Sangsad Bhavan.
Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury will present the national budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 on June 11. This is the first full budget of the current government.
According to the relevant sources, discussions are going on to keep the budget size of the next financial year between 8 lakh 83 thousand crores and 9 lakh 30 thousand crores. As some initial estimates, the budget amount has been estimated at 9 lakh 38 thousand crores. If given final approval, this will be the biggest budget in the country's history.
It is known that inflation control will be the main priority in this year's budget. In addition to this, special emphasis is being given to creating new jobs, increasing social protection programs, investing in the creative economy, increasing allocations to agriculture and health sectors and strengthening revenue collection.
As a draft, the target of revenue collection may be around 6 lakh 95 thousand crores. There is talk that the Annual Development Program (ADP) could be up to Tk 3 lakh crore.

According to the sources of the Parliament Secretariat, all the preparations for conducting the session have been completed. The session will be held in the main hall of the Parliament building in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Security has been beefed up around the budget session. The DMP has banned the carrying of arms, processions, gatherings and demonstrations in and around the Parliament building.
