A Rohingya youth was injured by members of Myanmar's armed insurgent group Arakan Army while fishing in the Naf river near Teknaf border in Cox's Bazar.
The incident took place on Friday (June 5) around 9 am in Teknaf's Hoikung border-adjacent Myanmar's Bagardia area.

Injured Mohammad Ayub (28) is a resident of Block-4 of Rohingya Shelter No. 14 in Ukhia. He is the son of the deceased Kala Mia.
Lieutenant Colonel Md. Zahirul Islam said that on June 5, Ayub went fishing in Bagardia area of ​​Myanmar, about five kilometers from the zero line of the border. At that time members of the Arakan Army fired at him. Ayyub's right arm and leg were shot. When he reached Chota Bill Post area injured, BGB members rescued him with the help of locals. He was later admitted to Kutupalong MSF Hospital for treatment. He is currently undergoing treatment there.
He also said that BGB's public awareness activities are continuing in order to avoid such unwanted incidents in the future so that no one should cross the zero line of the border and enter the interior of Myanmar. BGB is always alert and active to ensure border security.
On June 3, an armed Rohingya group fired at BGB members patrolling the Ukhia border. During this time, a large amount of arms, ammunition and Yaba were seized.
On May 30, two Rohingyas were arrested by the BGB in connection with the firing of Rohingya dacoits and robbery of fishermen's boats in the Naf River near Hnila border in Teknaf.
