Four persons have been arrested in RAB operation.
Expatriate engineer of Qatar was kidnapped from the forest in Chittagong City's Bandar Thana area. RAB rescued Monirul Haque. At this time, four kidnappers were arrested.
On Sunday (June 7) afternoon, he was rescued in the forest of Debar Par area in front of CAESD Godown of Railway Academy under Bandar Thana.
The media department of RAB-7 confirmed the fact of the operation at night and informed that Monirul Haque is an expatriate of Qatar and a former student of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CHUTE). He went missing after leaving his house in Madhyam Mohra area of ​​Chandgaon police station this morning (Sunday).
The family members searched for him at various places but did not find him, filed a general diary at the police station and sought RAB's help. In the meantime, the abductors called from an unknown number and claimed that Monirul Haque is in their custody. To get him back alive, a ransom of three lakh rupees will have to be paid.
On receiving the news, an expeditionary team of RAB-7 conducted an operation and rescued the kidnapped engineer. At the same time, four people were arrested from the spot.
Arrested are, Md. Rohan (20), Md. Sayem (23), Md. Saddam Hossain (28) and Md. Ziaur Rahman. All their houses are in different areas of Halishahar police station of Chittagong.
RAB said further legal action against the detained persons is under process.
