On the opposite way, 3 people died in the collision of autorickshaw and bus

Three people were killed in a road accident south of Comilla. Another person was seriously injured.

On Saturday (May 6) around 7:30 pm, the passengers of the auto-rickshaw were killed when they were hit by a bus on the Comilla-Noakhali Regional Highway in Ratanpur area.

Police and locals said that an auto-rickshaw carrying passengers was moving in the opposite direction. At this time, a high-speed Shah Ali Paribahan bus going from Noakhali to Comilla hit the autorickshaw. Three people were killed on the spot and one was seriously injured.

After the accident, the autorickshaw got twisted. After receiving the information, the highway police and locals quickly started rescue operations. The injured person was rescued and sent to the hospital. The accident caused a temporary traffic jam on the highway, but the situation normalized later. The police are trying to identify the dead bodies after recovering them.

Laxam Crossing Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Osman Gani said, “It was not possible to identify the victims immediately. Locals believe that they may be day laborers and residents of Rangpur area. The matter is being investigated and necessary legal action is being taken. The police is trying to identify the victims of the accident. The injured person is being treated.”
