Referring to the snatching of the iPhone from the hands of Planning Minister MA Mannan as an ‘isolated incident’, Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque said that it is not the overall picture of the crime.
After the meeting of the cabinet committee on law and order in the meeting room of the Ministry of Home Affairs at the Secretariat on Wednesday, the journalists drew the attention of the committee member AKM Mozammel Haque by pointing out the incident of robbing the mobile phone of the Planning Minister.
Terming the matter ‘sad’, he said, “This is an isolated incident which does not reflect the overall picture.”
Mozammel Haque said many crimes were discussed in the meeting. Taking a mobile phone from a minister or a citizen in this way or mischief, murder, murder, these are constantly happening in all countries. That doesn’t mean it’s the overall picture. I’m talking about the overall picture.
“Of course it’s sad and the police have been urged that all these gangs… they have a cycle,” said a senior member of the government’s cabinet.

Earlier last Sunday (May 30) evening, a robber snatched the iPhone from the hands of Planning Minister MA Mannan while talking with the window down. The incident took place at Vijay Sarani signal.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Kafrul police station on Wednesday afternoon. Selimuzzaman said that a case was filed on Sunday (May 30) night regarding the theft of the minister’s mobile phone. Humayun, the minister’s personal assistant, filed the case as a plaintiff in this incident.
He also said that no one has been arrested so far in the case of mobile phone theft. Police, DB, CID are working. We are all trying our best. Hope we get mobile.
