Trump doubts about attending his son's wedding

US President Donald Trump has said he may not be able to attend his eldest son's wedding because of the ongoing Iran war situation. He referred to the situation as 'not a good time'. News from Indian Express.

Speaking to reporters at the White House on Thursday (May 21), Trump said he would try to attend the wedding, but that was not yet certain.

In a video interview, Trump said, “Donald Trump Jr. wants me to attend the wedding. It's going to be a very intimate and private event. I'll try to go.”

However, referring to the current political situation, he said, “I told him – this is not a good time for me. I have a big crisis called 'Iran' and some other urgent matters ahead of me.”

According to US media reports, Donald Trump Jr. (48) is set to tie the knot with Bettina Anderson this weekend in the Bahamas. This is his second marriage.

The US President also expressed his concern about the reaction of the public if he attends this family event during the crisis.

Expressing anger about media criticism, Trump said, “There is no way I can win in this situation. If I attend the wedding, the media will criticize me. And if I don't, the 'fake news' will not leave me.”

Iran is currently at loggerheads with the United States, and the Trump administration is working toward a possible truce or deal. With the country's midterm elections looming, the conflict and Trump's every move are being watched very seriously in domestic politics.

However, despite all the uncertainty, Trump wished his son good luck in his new life and said, “I hope they have a wonderful married life.”
