12 injured in clash with Narail mosque committee

At least 12 people were injured in the clash between the two sides over the establishment of a mosque committee in Narail Sadar Upazila.

The incident took place on Friday (May 22) at around 11:30 am in Singia Banikpara area of ​​Hobkhali Union of the upazila. The injured were rescued and admitted to Narail Modern Sadar Hospital.

According to local sources, there was a long-standing dispute between Alam Molya and Mejbuddin's side regarding the committee of Singia Banikpara Jame Masjid. During the discussion on the mosque committee on Friday morning, a clash occurred between the two parties.

Alam Molya said that this clash happened because the financial statement of Singia Banikpara Jame Masjid was not presented for a long time. However, no statement from Mejbuddin's side was found in this regard.

Narail Sadar Police Station OC Ajay Kumar Kundu said, “So far no party has filed a written complaint in this incident. Legal action will be taken if a complaint is lodged. Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid any untoward incident.”
