Mosaddek Hossain Saikat returned to the ODI squad after four years. Kazi Nurul Hasan Sohan also got a place after a series break. Afif Hussain, who was in the last ODI squad against New Zealand, has been left out. Mahidul Islam went out without playing any match.
The Australian national cricket team is going to Dhaka on June 5 to play three ODIs and T20Is. Three ODIs will be held at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on June 9, 11 and 14. Being an ICC ODI Super League match, each gets a different importance.
Mosaddek Hossain last played in ODI against Zimbabwe in August 2022. He returned to the national team after almost 4 years. Chief selector Habibul Bashar said about Mosaddek, “Mosaddek is batting very well at the moment, his skill at number six will be more useful for us. He is an experienced cricketer, has played before, is in good form in the Premier League. We will utilize his all-round ability.”
Mosaddek has scored 310 runs at an average of 77.50 and a strike rate of 129.17 in 6 innings for Abahani in this year's Premier League. He got 12 wickets in bowling. Besides, Sohan Bashundhara scored 248 runs in 8 matches for Strikers.
