Shaun Tait has sent his resignation letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board citing family and personal reasons. This Australian coach had been working with Bangladesh pacers since May 2025.
But sources say that Tait resigned to take charge of the Bengal team in India. However, 43-year-old Tait is tight-lipped on this issue. Tait had a contract with BCB till 2027 ODI World Cup. But BCB did not stop him from wanting to resign. The two sides have reached an agreement on mutual understanding.
Meanwhile, Tait said that the decision to leave Bangladesh was not easy. He finds joy and pride in working with promising cricketers. Tait said, “It is a special honor for me to work with the Bangladesh national cricket team. I am proud to be a part of this and to have the opportunity to work with an amazing team of talented and dedicated players and support staff.”
“This (resignation) was not an easy decision, and I am deeply grateful for the understanding and support shown by the BCB throughout our negotiations. I am proud of what the pace bowlers have achieved and I believe they have a very bright future ahead of them. I wish the team all-round success for the coming days,” he added.
Tait was getting a salary of 14 thousand dollars per month in Bangladesh. In Bangladeshi Taka which is close to 2 Crore Taka. Talha Zubair has been appointed as the pace bowling coach for the upcoming home series against Australia and tour of Zimbabwe. He has already started working.
