India must stop border pushin': Saiful

If India wants to maintain good relations with Bangladesh, it should immediately stop pushin activities on the border, said general secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Haque.

At the same time, he urged India to avoid all anti-Bangladesh activities.

He said these things at the party's Dhaka Metropolitan Committee meeting held at Segunbagichar Solidarity Auditorium in the capital on Friday (June 6).

Saiful Haque said, “After the new government came to power in Bangladesh in February, India is talking about friendly relations on the one hand, but on the other hand, it has continued various anti-Bangladesh activities including communal incitement.”

He said, “These activities have increased after the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal.”

He alleged, “For India's internal political interests, its citizens have been undermined by calling their citizens as Bangladeshi infiltrators. Now there is an attempt to push them to Bangladesh, which is not acceptable in any way.”

Saiful Haque said, “If a Bangladeshi citizen is illegally staying in India, there is a legal process to deport him. Similarly, appropriate legal action can be taken against Indian citizens illegally staying in Bangladesh.”

He urged the Government of Bangladesh to take initiative in the sustainable solution of the bilateral problems of the two countries on the basis of equality, justice and mutual dignity without stepping on the provocation of India or BSF.

Dhaka Metropolitan Committee President Mir Mofazzal Hossain Moshtaq chaired the meeting held by leaders of various levels of the party.

The program of the Dhaka Metropolitan Committee on the occasion of the 22nd founding anniversary of the Revolutionary Workers Party on June 14 was also finalized in the meeting.
