Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has strengthened patrolling and surveillance at the Sunamganj border to prevent possible pushin (pushing) from India.
Besides patrolling the border area of ​​Bishwambharpur upazila of Sunamganj from midnight on Saturday (June 6), they are warning the local public through miking.
According to BGB sources, the areas are relatively vulnerable as there is no barbed wire fence in six places within the 90 km border under Sunamganj 28 BGB Battalion. Additional security measures have been taken at these vulnerable points.
Lieutenant Colonel AKM Zakaria Qadir, Commander of 28 BGB Battalion, said, “Intelligence surveillance has been stepped up along the border to prevent illegal infiltration or forced pushing. Awareness campaigns are being conducted urging the residents of the border areas to be vigilant.”
He said that all units concerned are on high alert to ensure the border security of the country and necessary measures have been taken to prevent any kind of illegal infiltration.
