An old man is in jail for raping a child in Kushtia

An old man named Waheed Ali (50) has been sent to jail for raping a ten-year-old child in Kushtia's Kumarkhali. He was sent to jail by the court on Tuesday (May 26) afternoon.

Earlier, the police arrested him from Tarapur area of ​​Sadaki Union of the upazila late on Monday night. Wahed Ali is the son of deceased Rajab Ali Biswas of Tarapur village in Sadaki Union of Upazila. He is the caretaker of a mango orchard in that area.

According to the police, the child went to ride the goat in the field on Sunday morning. At that time, when she went to pick mangoes in the garden next to the field, Waheed raped her. Later, when the child came home and explained the details to his mother, the local Matabbars prepared to arbitrate. Then when the incident came to the attention of the police, the child's father filed a case at the Kumarkhali police station.

Kumarkhali Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Md. Amirul Islam said, “A case has been registered for the rape of a 10-year-old child. The accused has been arrested and sent to jail through the court. During preliminary interrogation, he has admitted the truth of the incident.”
