Attack on journalists at Ad-Deen Hospital

There was an attack on journalists at Ad-Deen Medical College Hospital in the capital. Some journalists were injured.

The incident took place on Saturday (May 30) evening.

The Health Minister visited the hospital on Saturday afternoon after the death of six newborns. During the visit, he expressed outrage at the illegal bakery factory and unhygienic environment in one of the hospital buildings.

Later, when the hospital authorities asked for their statement on the matter, the officials and staff nurses got into an argument with the journalists.

At one stage they attacked the journalists and chased them with sticks. Some journalists were injured.

Till the time of writing the report, the cameras of some television channels were also allegedly vandalised. Several members of the law and order force on duty at the scene were contacted but they refused to comment on the matter.
