The dead body was recovered from the canal on the west side of the bridge adjacent to Gaurichanna Bazar in Barguna.
From Gaurichanna Canal in Barguna Sadar. Police recovered the headless body of a cow trader named Shamim Bepari (40).
On Monday (June 8) at around 11:30 am, his body was recovered from the debris of the canal on the west side of the bridge adjacent to Gaurichanna Bazar.
Locals said that at around 10:30 this morning, they saw blood-stained clothes and shoes lying on the side of the canal and informed the police. Later, members of Sadar police station and district intelligence police reached the spot and started searching. At one stage, they recovered the headless body from the debris of the canal. Relatives present at the spot identified the body as that of Shamim.
Mansoor Ali Bepari, the father of the deceased Shamim, said that Shamim left home on Sunday evening and went to Gauri Channa market. At around 11 pm, they started searching for his mobile phone. He could not tell anything about who or why Shamim was killed.
Barguna Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Alim said, “The body will be sent to the morgue after the post-mortem. The police have started a separate investigation to unravel the mystery of the murder.”
