Prime Minister Tariq Rahman called upon the leaders and activists to stand by the helpless people. He said, “Today is the 45th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman. Those of you who have been with the party for a long time know that every year on this day, I have tried to stand by the helpless people. I have tried to help those people who are in helpless condition and difficulties in various places as much as possible.”
Addressing the party leaders and workers, the Prime Minister said, “I will appeal to you, not only on behalf of the party; if possible, try to stand by the helpless people through personal initiatives. This is the lesson of Shahid Zia.”
The party's current chairman and prime minister made this call after distributing clothes and dry food among the needy on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder president Ziaur Rahman at the party's central office in Naya Paltan on Saturday (May 30) afternoon.
Tariq Rahman said, “Let's all take an oath that we will extend our hand of support to the helpless people according to our ability from each position. Let this be our hope today, let this be our achievement.”
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmad, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail, Metropolitan South Convener Rafiqul Alam Majnu, Metropolitan North Convener Aminul Haque, Dhaka South City Corporation Administrator Md. Abdus Salam, Administrator of Dhaka North City Corporation Shafiqul Alam Milton, Rajeev Ahsan of Volunteer Party, Chhatra Dal President Rakibul Islam Rakib and others were present.
Earlier, in a short rally at Khilgaon's Jor Pukur field, the Prime Minister said, “I have visited many places in south Dhaka by car. Not only the waste of sacrifices, but also how much other garbage is being cleaned must be monitored. We who live in this city and the citizens of Bangladesh want to say that this country is ours, this city is also ours. This should be understood by all.”
He said, “It is the responsibility of the city corporation, of course they will fulfill it. Cleaning workers are working day and night. But as citizens we also have some responsibility. We should try to make the city less dirty as much as possible. Then this metropolis will be cleaner.”
The prime minister said, “If this city is clean, the environment will be livable and beautiful, as well as convenient for everyone to walk. It will also be easy for the cleaning staff to keep it properly clean.”
He said, “On this day, 45 years after the martyrdom of President Zia, our leaders try to extend a helping hand to the needy people in their respective areas.”
Remembering his father, the Prime Minister said, “Martyr Ziaur Rahman told everyone to stand by the distressed people. He taught the process of building a country through work. As leaders and activists of his political party, everyone should try to work for the welfare of the country and the people of the country from their own positions and by adopting various plans and programs by the government.”
The Prime Minister said, “If the wealthy people of the country come forward, we can quickly change the fate of the people.”
He also said, “Ziaur Rahman started politics to change the fate of this country and the people of the country. By the grace of God, the people of the country have once again given the responsibility of forming a new Bangladesh to the BNP in the elections on February 12. They are the source of all our power. Therefore, if the people's cooperation and support continues, the government will be able to quickly change the fate of the people of the country.” Khabar bus.
