1 killed in Iran's attack on Kuwait airport, diplomatic facilities damaged


One person was killed and several others were injured in an Iranian drone and missile attack on Kuwait International Airport, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

In a statement on social media X today, Wednesday (June 3), the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned and protested the attack. Al-Jazeera news.

“The State of Kuwait condemns in the strongest terms Iran's brutal and continuous attacks targeting civilians and important national facilities using ballistic missiles and drones,” the statement said.

The statement added that the attacks “repeatedly targeted civilians and critical facilities, particularly the Kuwait International Airport. One person was killed and several others injured, as well as damage to critical facilities, including diplomatic missions.”

In a statement, Kuwait's foreign ministry called the attack a “sinful and repeated Iranian aggression”. At the same time, it said, “Kuwait maintains its 'full and inherent right' under international law to protect the country's sovereignty and respond appropriately to this attack.”

Meanwhile, Tehran accused Kuwait and Bahrain of direct involvement behind the US attack on Iran's Kesham Island on Tuesday night.

A statement from Iran's Foreign Ministry claimed on Wednesday morning that the United States has conducted military operations against Iran using the territory and military installations of Kuwait and Bahrain. As a result, the two countries cannot avoid 'direct and clear responsibility' for this attack.

In the statement, Tehran warned, “Iran has the 'full right' of self-defense under international law to protect its sovereignty. Iran will use all possible ways and means to prevent any such attacks in the future and to respond appropriately.”
