The new governor of Bangladesh Bank. The central bank has started releasing new design notes with the signature of Mostaqur Rahman in the market. This note in the first phase of the new series titled 'Historical and Archaeological Architecture of Bangladesh' has already been issued.
This information was informed by the Department of Communications and Publications of Bangladesh Bank on Monday (May 18).
According to the central bank, the new series of 1000, 500 and 10 taka banknotes were issued on May 18 from Bangladesh Bank's Motijheel office. Later, these notes will be issued periodically from other Bangladesh Bank offices in the country.
In addition, new design and features of 20, 50 and 100 taka notes were presented by the governor. It will be issued periodically under the signature of Mostaqur Rahman. However, the color, shape, design and security features of these notes will remain unchanged as before.
Bangladesh Bank also said that besides the introduction of new series of notes, all current paper notes and metal coins will remain valid as before and will continue to circulate in the market.
