Shakrul resigned as BCB director


Bangladesh Cricket Board Director Mir Shakrul Alam Shimandan has resigned. He became the director of BCB unopposed as a councilor from Rajshahi division.

Shakrul Alam sent his resignation letter to BCB on Monday (June 8) afternoon.

He was elected unopposed as a Category-1 or District-Division representative. But soon after he was elected, there was criticism. Bogra-2 Constituency Member of Parliament Mir Shahe Alam's son Mir Shakrul Alam border. He decided to leave citing personal and family reasons.

According to the constitution, the resignation must be formally announced after the new board takes over. Following that process, Shakrul Amal sent a letter to the Bangladesh Cricket Board in the afternoon.

Regarding the reason for resignation, Shakrul Alam wrote in the letter, “Currently, as my father is the state minister of the government, as all the family businesses are entrusted to me, it will not be possible to play a proper role in such an important national institution, so it is not possible to perform the duties as a director due to business engagement.”

The Board of Directors of BCB has 25 members. A director's withdrawal will also result in a fresh by-election in that category.
