Conflict over drug consumption, youth killed by friend's stabbing

A young man named Helal Uddin (33) was stabbed to death by his friend in Haluaghat of Mymensingh due to a dispute over drug consumption.

On Monday (June 8) around 4:30 pm, Helal was stabbed with a knife in the cow market area of ​​Haluaghat town. He is the son of Ali Hossain of East Kachari Para village.

Police and locals said that on Monday afternoon, the friends were hanging out at Shariful's house in Gaur Bazar area of ​​the city. At that time, Helal Uddin and his friend Shariful got into an argument due to a dispute over drug consumption. At one point, Helal was stabbed under the leadership of Shariful. Helal was seriously injured. Helal ran away from there and took shelter in another house. Shariful chased him and attacked him again and ran away. Later, the locals noticed Helal and took him to the local health complex, where the doctor declared him dead. Since this incident, there has been tension in the area. Law enforcement officials visited the scene.

Al Amin, the brother of the deceased, said, “I got the news, they are killing my brother. I want justice for my brother's murder.”

Mizanur Rahman, Assistant Superintendent of Police of Haluaghat Circle, said, “Whether the murder was due to intoxication or not, it can be said after the investigation. We have arrested one person for Zingasabad. The operation to arrest others involved in the incident is ongoing.”
