The police recovered the hanging body of a seven-month pregnant woman in Sreepur, Gazipur. In this incident, the husband of the deceased has been detained for questioning.
The body was recovered from a rented house in Ansar Road area of ​​the municipality on Saturday (May 23) morning.
The name of the dead woman is Shakila Akhtar (27). He is from Shimultali village of Birampur upazila of Dinajpur district. Daughter of Saidur Rahman.
According to family and local sources, about a year ago, Md. from Kauniya area of ​​Rangpur was identified on mobile phone. Shakila is married to Abdur Razzak's son Raju Ahmed (30). Since then, the husband and wife lived in the house of Aminul Islam on rent in Ansar Road area of ​​Sripur. Raju worked in a local garment factory. Shakila was seven months pregnant.
Sabina Yachmin, elder sister of the deceased, said that they got the news of Shakila's death around 4:30 am today. He went to the spot and found his body hanging inside the house. Although the husband and wife lived in the same room, there is doubt in the family about how the incident happened.
Arrested Raju Ahmed claimed to the police that they had a fight over money at night. At one point, when Shakila tried to hit him with a sharp stick, he closed the door of the room from outside and went to the roof. He said that he came back and found his wife hanging.
Sub-Inspector (SI) of Sreepur Police Station. Obaidul Haque said, “The police recovered the body from the spot. The husband of the deceased has been detained for questioning. The body has been sent to the mortuary of Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. Further legal action will be taken according to the complaint of the relatives and the post-mortem report.”
