Six people attempted pushin on Meherpur border early on Saturday.
The Indian Border Guard Force (BSF) tried to push six people, including women and children, through the Gangni border in Meherpur. The incident took place near the 140/5S international pillar of the Tentulbaria border of the upazila in the early hours of Saturday (June 6). This attempt of BSF failed in the face of resistance from BGB and villagers.
Locals said that the BSF opened the barbed wire fence and pushed six people towards the Bangladesh border. They tried to enter the territory of Bangladesh on foot. In the face of resistance from the BGB and local residents, they went back to the side of the barbed wire fence. BGB and villagers have taken a strong position on the Bangladesh border.
Tentulbaria BGB Camp Commander Subedar Habibur Rahman said that BSF tried to push six people. In the face of resistance from the BGB and the villagers, they were forced to return to the Indian border. Pushin's tried people are staying in Indian territory next to the barbed wire fence as BSF did not accept it.
“Illegal intrusion or pushin will not be accepted,” he said.
