Celebrating 27th Anniversary of Mercantile Bank


Mercantile Bank Plc celebrated its 27th anniversary through various events across the country.

On this occasion, Alhaj Akram Hossain (Humayun), Vice Chairman and Entrepreneurship Director of the bank was present as the chief guest in the recently organized function at the bank's head office. He along with other directors and senior executives inaugurated the anniversary function by cutting the cake.

Motiul Hasan, managing director of the bank, gave a welcome speech on the occasion. Chairman of the executive committee M. also spoke at this time. A. Khan Belal, Risk Management Committee Chairman Mohammad Abdul Awal, Entrepreneurship Director A.S.M. Feroze Alam and independent director Prof. Dr. Mohammad Taufiqul Islam and Professor Nasreen Sultana.

On the occasion of the founding anniversary, the day is celebrated by cutting cakes in all the branches, sub-branches and head offices of the country. Customers are also pampered.

Vice Chairman Alhaj Akram Hossain (Humayun) said in his speech, “The Mercantile Bank known as 'Banglar Bank' started its journey on June 2, 1999. In the last 27 years of continuous progress, the bank has become a customer-friendly, reliable and sustainable financial institution. He expressed his determination to continue customer-centric banking services by ensuring good corporate governance in the future.

In his speech, Managing Director Motiul Hasan said, “Technology-based digital banking services will be expanded to meet the needs of customers. Besides, recovery of defaulted loans will be given top priority this year.”

He also said, “Agriculture, SME and retail sectors will be given importance in disbursing new loans. At the same time, initiatives will continue to bring more people under banking services through the expansion of branches, sub-branches and agent banking outlets in remote areas of the country.”
