EB students are getting debit cards from Islami Bank

Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC is launching a special co-branded dual currency debit card with university logo and image for Islami University (EB) students. Students will be able to collect this card from next Sunday (June 7) from Sheikhpara Bazar sub-branch adjacent to the university.

Rabiul Islam, in-charge and senior chief officer of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC's Sheikhpara Bazar sub-branch, confirmed the matter on Friday (January 5).

He said that an agreement regarding payment of online fees has been executed between Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC and Islami University. Under this agreement, distribution of specialized co-branded cards for teachers, students, officers and employees of the university will start from next Sunday.

Rabiul Islam said that the card can be collected from Islami Bank's Sheikhpara Bazar sub-branch and through this it will be possible to take all kinds of banking facilities. While the card is completely free of charge for students, prescribed charges will be applicable for teachers, officials and employees.

From January 18 to 24, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited conducted a week-long special campaign on the campus to ensure free e-payment, ATM card and online banking facilities for the students of Islami University. During this time more than two thousand students updated their bank accounts. Besides, experimentally, the fees of the first semester of the second year of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of the University are collected online.

In continuation of this, co-branded dual currency debit cards are being handed over to the students. International transactions are also available through the card. Payment of medical expenses abroad, payment of education fees in foreign universities and purchases on domestic-foreign e-commerce platforms can be made in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT) and US Dollar (USD)—both currencies.

Apart from this, the cardholders can do freelancing related transactions and also get the facility of withdrawing money from ATM booths in the country and abroad.
