Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mia Golam Parwar (centre) at the Rocon conference organized at a community center in Jhalkathi city.
Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Professor Mia Golam Parwar said, “In the current political situation of the country, BNP is in a kind of dilemma and crisis. Their position on the reform question is now unclear. Earlier they talked about reforms, referendum and state restructuring, now after coming to power, they are moving away from that position. If this situation continues, Jamaat will protest in parliament and on the streets.”
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the Rocon conference organized by Zilla Jamaat at a community center in Jhalkathi city on Saturday (May 23) afternoon.
Golam Parwar said, “BNP is now unable to explain its position to the people. They are now trying to take political advantage by sidestepping reforms. The people of the country dreamed of a Bangladesh through the sacrifice of thousands of people in the July uprising, but that expectation has not been fulfilled.”
He said, “People wanted an accountable state, corruption-free administration, good governance and justice. But, people are still suffering from insecurity. Murders, rapes, robberies and road accidents have increased alarmingly in the country.”
This leader of Jamaat said, “If the upcoming local government elections are not free, fair and impartial, political instability will increase in the country. If people's right to vote cannot be ensured, questions will be raised about the impartiality of the government.”
Under the chairmanship of Jhalkathi District Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Advocate Hafizur Rahman, the party's Central Assistant Secretary General Advocate Moazzem Hossain Helal, Barisal region team member Maulana Fakhruddin Khan Razi, District Jamaat Secretary Muhammad Faridul Haque and District Jamaat's Deputy Amir Advocate BM Aminul Islam and Jhalkathi-1 in the last parliamentary election were also present in the Rocon conference. Jamaat's nominated candidate for the seat. Faizul Haque and Sheikh Neyamul Karim of Jhalkathi-2 constituencies.
