Paturia-Daulatdia sea route closed due to strong winds

Due to rain and gusty wind, ferry service on Paturia-Daulatdia route is temporarily closed.

On Tuesday (May 26) at 11:20 p.m., authorities stopped the ferry service on the waterway to avoid accidents.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Aricha Office General Manager (Trade) Salam Hossain confirmed this information.

He said, “Vehicle and passenger pressure has increased on the Paturia-Daulatdia route during the Eid festival. There is no problem as 17 ferries ply on this route. Due to rain and gusty winds, there is a risk of ferry movement in the river. To avoid accidents, ferry movement has been temporarily stopped on the Paturia-Daulatdia route. Once the natural calamity passes, the ferry movement will resume.”
