Tourists flocked to the safari park, earning more than 7 lakh rupees in 3 days


Gazipur Safari Park was thronged with visitors during the Eid-ul-Azha long holiday. Thousands of people with family and friends are flocking to the park every day. In the first three days of Eid, the park authority earned more than 7 lakh rupees by selling entry tickets.

On Saturday (May 30), the third day of Eid, there was a festive mood throughout the park from morning to afternoon.

According to the park sources, the income of about three and a half lakh rupees was earned by selling entry tickets only on Saturday. And in the first three days of Eid, the total ticket sales income is about 7 lakh 25 thousand taka.

It is known that the entire park area has become busy with the walk of visitors from different parts of the country. After noon the crowd increased. Along with the staff of the forest department, the tourist police is also responsible for the security and service of the visitors.

The main attraction for visitors is the core safari zone. They get a chance to see tigers, lions, giraffes, zebras, bears, wildebeests, wildebeests and different species of deer in the open environment by riding in a special air-conditioned bus. The group of monkeys on the way is also attracting the attention of the visitors.

Besides, there are various species of native and exotic birds including colorful macaws, butterfly garden, fish aquarium, peacock sanctuary, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, emu and rare species of vultures in different parts of the park. Hanging bridge and nature observatory are also special attractions for visitors.

Atiq, a garment worker visiting the park, said that even though he could not go home for the Eid holiday, he came to the safari park to spend time with his family. The experience of seeing tigers and lions up close impressed him greatly.

Maria, a college student, said, “Safari Park is one of the favorite places to spend some time in close proximity to nature. The opportunity to see such a variety of animals together is not easily found anywhere else.”

According to Mozammel Haque, a local resident, business in the area also gets boosted due to visitors coming to the park during Eid and various public holidays. This has a positive impact on the local economy.

Safari Park Officer-in-Charge and Assistant Forest Conservator Tariq Rahman said, “All necessary preparations have been made to handle the pressure of visitors during the Eid holiday. We expect the presence of visitors to continue in the same way during the remaining days of the holiday.”
