Panna Akhter, the wife of former police officer Kamrul Islam Shikdar Mucha, has given a confessional statement in the court saying that Babul Akhtar was involved in the murder of Mahmuda Khanam Mitu in Chittagong. He gave this statement in the court of Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Hossain Mohammad Raza on Monday. PBI Chittagong Metro Region Inspector Santosh Kumar Chakma, the investigating officer of the case, said, 'Panna Akhtar has given a statement to the magistrate under section 164 as a witness. He said the same words that he said in the media recently. The three who gave their statement earlier also told the court that they had given three lakhs to Mucha on the instructions of Babul Akhtar. In this regard, Mucha's wife Panna Akhter told Manavzamin, “I told PBI exactly what I told you about my husband Mucha and police officer Babul Akhtar's involvement in the incident.” I didn't say anything new. They asked beautiful questions, I gave all the answers.
Panna said, I told Babul Akhtar about my husband's introduction, friendship with him, slowly becoming a source. Babul Akhtar's conversation with my husband after Mitu's murder I have said exactly.
At the same time I requested them to rescue my husband. Panna said, the day before Mucha was taken away by the police, he spoke to Babul Akhtar several times in front of me. At that time he told him 'I am in trouble. I trusted your words and worked. If something happens to my family, I will be forced to open my mouth, sir. Meanwhile, within 24 hours of giving a statement against Babul Akhtar in the court, Panna Akhtar filed a general diary (GD) in the police station asking for the safety of his life. At 12:30 pm on Tuesday, he lodged a GD at Rangunia police station. Rangunia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahbub Milki confirmed the matter. When asked why he did the GD, Panna Akhtar told this reporter that actually 5 years ago I went to the Rangunia police station to do the GD. Then the police did not accept it. On the contrary, since then I was threatened by calls from different numbers. So, after giving a statement, I went to the police station again for fear of danger. But no one showed me any fear again.
