US President Donald Trump says Washington and Tehran are 'very close' to finalizing a deal. He said this in an interview given to CBS News on Saturday (May 23).
“Things are getting better every day,” Trump said.
The president said Iran's uranium enrichment issue would be “satisfactorily resolved” under this potential deal. However, he did not give any details about it.
“I will only sign the deal where we get everything we want,” Trump said.
Incidentally, Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asif Munir has visited Iran to discuss with top officials after receiving a positive response from the US regarding the agreement. He has already met with the President of the country. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told reporters in Delhi on Saturday that a deal with Iran could be done very quickly.
