Residents protested against the death of a college student named Fahmid Rumon (18) due to a dispute over land in Trimohani of Gaibandha Sadar Upazila, vandalizing and setting fire to the accused's house.

There was a dispute over the land boundary of Rakib, son of Chana Haji of the same village with Ruhith, son of deceased Farooq of Piarapur village, east of Trimohini in Sadar upazila. As a result of this conflict, talented college student Rumon (18) was killed by Rakib's stabbing at around 10 o'clock on Sunday night.
