State Minister for Health and Family Welfare has warned to take strict measures against the irregularities of private medical colleges. MA Muhit. He said, we have to stop fake clinics and fake doctor factories like nurses. He referred to the current government as the government of ‘Bangladesh of rules and regulations’.
Recently, the state minister appeared at the ministry on a holiday afternoon. While attending the ministry and reviewing the files of private medical colleges, one after another he caught a terrible irregularity. Then the State Minister for Health and Family Welfare said this in a special video message.
In that video message, he said, I see the files of some medical colleges who do not care about the rules and regulations at all. After years of saying they are operating like a business instead of an educational institution. Many colleges do not have their own land, or even a deed of deposit. Many institutions are running without the approval of Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC).
Expressing anger, he further said, there is no hospital, no patients. So how do students enroll there and become doctors? Parents are spending their hard-earned money on their children all their lives, but in the end they are being cheated. When these untrained doctors come out, people’s lives will become extremely insecure.
The state minister clarified that every private medical college has to maintain a ‘minimum standard’. No institution will be allowed to function without sufficient manpower, hospitals and patients.
He referred to the current government as the government of ‘Bangladesh of rules and regulations’ and said, we must stop fake clinics and fake doctor factories like nurses.
