Theft at the house of a police officer in Shaistaganj


In Shaistaganj of Habiganj, an incident of theft took place by breaking the lock of the house of a police sub-inspector (SI). It is claimed that 1 lakh 40 thousand cash and a television were stolen from his house.

The theft happened on Saturday (May 23) at noon in Mahalulsunam village of the municipality. The victim SI SI Amir Hossain is working in Cox's Bazar.

SI Amir Hossain said over the phone that his wife, CHCP Sumaiya Akhtar of Upazila Health Complex, lives in the rented house with their child and housekeeper. Lock your house and go out for necessary work on Saturday. At that opportunity, the group of thieves broke the lock and entered.

He said, “The group of thieves took Tk 1 lakh 40 thousand in cash and a television. Besides, they ransacked various items in the house.”

Shaistaganj Police Station OC Md. Abul Kalam said, “Police are on high alert to prevent theft and crime. The incident is being investigated seriously. The culprits will be identified and brought to justice.”
