Three children including a child were killed in a head-on collision between an Easybike truck in Meherpur

Three people, including a child, were killed in a head-on collision between an easybike and a truck in Meherpur's Alinagar. Two others were injured in the accident.

The accident took place at Alinagar of Gangni upazila on Thursday (June 4) around 1 pm.

The deceased are easybike driver Arif Hossain (45), son of Alauddin of Uttar Shalika village of Meherpur Sadar upazila, Afrin (1), daughter of Mahin of the same village and Abrar Hossain, a resident of Jessore district.

Bamandi fire service station leader. Liaquat Ali and the locals said that Arif Hossain was traveling from Matmura village to North Shalika village with a passenger on an easy bike when he reached Alinagar and collided head-on with a Kushtia-bound truck from Gangni. At least 5 people were injured. Among the injured, Arif Hossain was rescued and Gangni and Afrin and Abrar were taken to Kushtia Hospital where they died. Gangni Hospital emergency department doctor Omar Farooq confirmed the death.

Uttam Kumar Das, officer-in-charge of Gangni police station, said that the truck driver escaped, the truck and the easy bike were seized.
