Two children died after drowning in a pond in Rangpur

Two children died after drowning in the pond near the house in Rangpur's Pirgacha. They are cousins.

The two deceased children are Rajeev Mia (6) son of Sajib Mia and Shahjahan Mia's daughter Senatul Akhtar (4) of Nazar Mahmud area of ​​Kaikuri Union of Pirgacha Upazila.

The police and locals said that on Friday (June 5) around 10:30 am, two brothers and sisters left the house together to play sports. As they did not return home after a long time passed, the family members started searching around. At one point, local residents saw the bodies of two children floating in a pond near the house. They were immediately rescued from the water and brought up, but both children died by then.

Pirgacha police station OC AKM Khandkar Muhibbul Islam said that the police visited the spot after receiving the information. After preparing the Surathal report, the bodies of the two children were handed over to their families as there was no complaint.
