The IRGC claimed that the attacks targeted the Ali Al-Salem air base in Kuwait and the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet base in the port of Salman in Bahrain. Eight important military installations were destroyed in these attacks.
The statement also said that through this attack, Iran’s position against any kind of aggression in the future has been clarified. The IRGC warned that any attack or provocation by the enemy would be met with a stern response, be it small or large, and no concessions would be made.
A U.S. official told Reuters on condition of anonymity that there have been no reports of casualties, major impacts or damage to U.S. installations in Bahrain and Kuwait so far. However, the situation is still being monitored and details are yet to come.
Earlier, the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that they had launched a new attack on several targets in Iran.
According to Al Jazeera’s report on Sunday (June 28), the United States attacked Iran for the second day in a row a few hours after an oil tanker was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important waterways for energy transportation. This is the biggest escalation of tensions between the two countries since the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US a couple of weeks ago.
