Dhaka Metropolitan South BNP Member Secretary Tanveer Ahmed Robin said, “It is necessary to bring the party's grassroots to high-level leaders under training. It is possible to make BNP leaders and workers more efficient and prepared through planned training in the next five years.”
He said these things at a discussion meeting organized on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of martyr President Ziaur Rahman, the founder of BNP, at Krishibid Institution Auditorium, Khamarbari, capital, on Sunday (May 31).
BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarek Rahman was present as the chief guest in the event. BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir presided.
Tanveer Ahmed Rabin said, “Through long struggle and the sacrifice of many leaders and workers of BNP, today BNP has got the responsibility of running the state of Bangladesh. For the past 17-18 years, our party leaders and workers have been busy in fulfilling the demands of the people of the country. Today, Alhamdulillah, BNP has got the responsibility of running the state by the direct vote of the people of Bangladesh and our beloved leader Tariq Rahman is serving as the Prime Minister. We can already see that he is working as a reflection of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman. doing and creating different examples for us.”
He said, “I want to make a small proposal. Honorable Prime Minister, we have five years. In these five years, we need to bring the leaders of our party from the grassroots to the high level in training. Today we have passed 100 days in our responsibility, but we can see that our grassroots leaders and workers are a bit restless, a bit ambivalent. They don't know what to do. I think we should use this opportunity.”
Tanveer Ahmed Rabin also said, “If we can establish an institution called Ziaur Rahman Institute in these five years, where we will be trained on the philosophy and nationalism that martyred President Ziaur Rahman has left for us; then it will be possible to prepare the grassroots leaders of our party for the future. I think, both the country and the party will benefit from it.”
Referring to the Chhatra Dal, he said, “Especially, every leader and activist of the Bangladesh Nationalist Chhatra Dal should be trained through this training. I think it is necessary to create an opportunity for them to come into leadership.”
At the end of the speech, Tanveer Ahmed Robin said, “We are ready to cooperate with Dhaka Metropolitan BNP in all aspects. You will give instructions, we will work.”
