Allegation of torture and murder in drug treatment center

An allegation has been made that a patient named Faizul Mia (55) was tortured and killed at a drug addiction treatment center in Narayanganj's Sonargaon. The incident took place at Evergreen drug treatment center in Haria Chowdhurypara area of ​​the upazila around 10 pm on Wednesday (June 3).

According to the police, before reaching the spot, the officials of the healing center left Faizul's body in the hospital and ran away.

The deceased is the son of Fochan Ali of Kachampur Behakair area of ​​Faizul Mia upazila.

Masuda Begum, the wife of the deceased, said that her husband was admitted to the Evergreen drug treatment center to bring him back from drugs to a normal life. Give him food the day after Eid. On getting the news on Wednesday night, she reached the hospital and found her husband dead.

Masuda Begum alleged that the people of the drug treatment center tortured and killed her husband. He demanded exemplary punishment for those involved.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Sonargaon police station Golam Sarwar said, initially, it is believed that the person died due to torture. There are marks of torture on the body. Police are conducting an operation to arrest those involved in the incident.
