Daksur Doa Mahfil in memory of Nawab Salimullah


Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DACSU) has organized a grave visit and a special doa mahfil on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Nawab Salimullah, one of the founding patrons of Dhaka University (DU). At this time, besides remembering his contribution, the speakers demanded the preservation and renovation of the grave.

At the beginning of the program organized by Daksur on Sunday (June 7), the leaders of the organization visited the grave of Nawab Salimullah and offered special prayers for the forgiveness of his soul. Later, special prayers and prayers were held at Dhaka University Central Mosque after Bad Zohar.

Speakers at the prayer meeting recalled with deep respect Nawab Salimullah's historic contribution to spread of education, development of Muslim society and establishment of Dhaka University. They said that his visionary leadership and education have become a unique example in the history of the country. The nation will forever remember his contribution with gratitude.

At this time, the speakers demanded the preservation and renovation of Nawab Salimullah's grave. According to them, it is necessary to take necessary steps to properly recognize his outstanding contribution to education and social development of the country and to preserve his memory for future generations.

Daksur Liberation War and Democratic Movement Secretary Fatima Tasnim Juma, Sports Secretary Arman Hossain, Student Transport Secretary Asif Abdullah, Common Room, Reading Room and Cafeteria Secretary Umme Salma and Executive Member Anas Ibn Munir were present in the grave visitation and prayer ceremony.

Besides, people from different classes and professions including students of Dhaka University participated in the event. At the end of the ceremony, a special prayer was offered asking for the forgiveness of the soul of Nawab Salimullah. At the same time, the speakers urged to present his ideals and contribution to the new generation.
