Prime Minister Tariq Rahman has urged Chinese companies to expand their value chain in Bangladesh to jointly shape Asia’s next big economic wonder.
He made this call in his address to business leaders, industrialists and institutional investors at the Bangladesh Investment Forum held today at the Diaoyutai Hotel in Beijing.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) organized the event.
The Prime Minister said, we are calling on Chinese companies to expand their value chain in Bangladesh. In addition to taking advantage of the increasingly large domestic market, we can help Chinese companies serve the global market more effectively.’
He said, ‘Bangladesh invites you to be a co-shaper of Asia’s next economic miracle. Already many Chinese investors are successfully conducting business in Bangladesh. They can highlight the power of our people, our resilience and our immense potential. They can say that Bangladesh is capable of giving results.
Tariq Rahman also said that more Chinese companies should come to the country to see Bangladesh in a new light.
“Their investments will receive proper valuation, concerns and expectations will be taken seriously and their growth will be facilitated through a more dynamic and service-oriented investment environment,” he assured investors.
The Prime Minister said, ‘Let us proceed from this forum with a common conviction. So that the region’s potential can be transformed into long-term sustainable growth, economic development and mutual prosperity of Bangladesh and China.’
At the end of the speech, he said to the Chinese investors, ‘Come to Bangladesh, invest in Bangladesh. Together we open new horizons of prosperity based on equal partnership.’
